Start Video ChatWhat this policy covers
This Privacy Policy describes how Flingster handles information when you open our site and use the browser-based video, audio, and text chat service. It is written for the way Flingster actually works: you can start a random match without creating an account, and most sessions are anonymous by design.
By using Flingster you accept the practices set out here. Read it alongside our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines — together they form the agreement between you and us.
Information we collect
We try to keep collection to the minimum needed to run a real-time matching service. Depending on how you use it, this can include:
- Connection data — an IP address, rough region, browser and device type, and similar technical signals needed to route a live session.
- Session activity — which chat mode you pick (video, audio or text), how long a match lasts, and skip / next / report actions, kept mainly in aggregate.
- Optional account details — only if you choose to register: a nickname and a sign-in identifier such as an email or a Google login.
- Safety records — anything you send us through a report, plus limited material preserved so moderation can review it.
- Cookies — small browser identifiers that keep a session working and help us measure usage (see below).
How we use it
Information is used to operate the matching, media and messaging features, and for nothing unrelated to running the service. Specifically we use it to:
- Connect you to another person and keep the live video, audio or text channel stable.
- Detect abuse, enforce the rules, and act on reports so the platform stays usable.
- Understand which features people rely on so we can improve them.
- Meet legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of users.
Your live conversations
Flingster passes video, audio and text between the two people in a match in real time. In normal use we do not record or store the content of what you say or show — when you leave, the session is gone.
The single exception is safety. If someone reports a session, a limited slice of related information may be captured so our team can review the report and respond. Treat everyone you meet as a stranger and never share passwords, financial details or documents on camera or in chat.
Cookies & analytics
We use cookies and comparable technologies to keep a session alive, remember basic preferences, and measure aggregate traffic. Analytics tools may process technical data such as an IP address on our behalf, and only to help us understand usage.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser. Some parts of the service may not work smoothly if you do.
When we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run Flingster (for example hosting and analytics), when the law requires it, or to protect users from harm.
How long we keep it
Technical and usage logs are kept only as long as they are useful for running and securing the service, then deleted or anonymised. Material tied to a safety report may be held longer while a case is open.
Your choices
You can browse anonymously, decline optional cookies, and — if you created an account — ask us to access or delete the details linked to it. Requests are handled subject to any legal record-keeping we are required to observe.
Age requirement
Flingster is strictly for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we remove it.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
